Favorite Travel Destinations
I enjoy travel with my family, especially the exploration of historic ruins and cultures from the past. These are a few of our favorite travel destinations:
Photograph of Taos Pueblo
Taos Pueblo, New Mexico is the oldest continually inhabited city in the United States.
These petroglyphs are located along Galisteo Ridge North, near Albuquerque, New Mexico. We discovered these samples of ancient art during a hike several years ago. They were not part of a park, and consequently they are now in someone's back yard!

Canyon de Chelly in Chinle, Arizona is home to many cliff dwellings that were occupied by the prehistoric Anasazi, also known as the "Basketmakers."
Aztec Monument in Aztec, New Mexico was misnamed. These ruins were also part of the Anasazi culture, not the ancient Aztec civilization of Mexico.

These two photographs above are of the Tulum ruins in Quintana Roo, Mexico. They are representative of ancient Mayan culture, and their location on high cliffs along the Caribbean Sea makes them especially picturesque!
