Experience:
At ACCC, I have taught the following courses: Principles of Sociology, Contemporary Social Problems, Marriage and the Family, Introduction to Gerontology, Introduction to Social Work, Social Agencies and Processes, and Fieldwork in Human Services. Prior to joining the ACCC faculty on a full time basis at ACCC in 1992, I worked 17 years as a social work practitioner, consultant, and administrator in the mental health and gerontology fields.
Academic Interests:
Cultural sociology and cultural studies; political economy; social stratification and poverty; American and European social history; and value conscious practice in the human services.

Dissertation: Gardening Subcultures: Culture and Politics from the Ground Up.
