- Think of a real communication conflict that has occurred
in your life with someone close to you.
- Focus on a conflict that was not resolved.
- Explain the nature of the conflict to your group.
- Was your communication in that conflict assertive,
aggressive, passive, or a combination of the three?
- Using the five stages of Conflict Resolution, come up with
a plan for resolving that conflict.
- Did you participate in any of the 7 types of communication
behavior that heightens conflict including: Avoidance, Non-Negotiation, Silencing,
Forcing, , Beltlining, Verbal Aggressiveness, or Argumentativeness?
- State the problems and solutions for the five stages in
concrete terms, explaining how other important interpersonal communication
concepts played a role such as Culture, Self, Perception, Listening, Verbal
Messages, and Non-Verbal Messages.
