Directions: Analyze the interpersonal communication exchange between Neo and the Oracle in the film The Matrix by answering the following ten questions.

1. Who is the primary source (transmitter) and receiver in the scene?

2.   What is the basic message the source (transmitter) is attempting to communicate?

3.   What elements of the context are contributing to the noise in the interaction (Physical, Temporal, Social-Psychological, Cultural)?

4.   What special considerations does the source (transmitter) need to keep in mind when encoding the message for the receivers?

5.   How are receivers providing feedback for the source (transmitter)?

6.   What’s the purpose of this interpersonal communication exchange (Learn, Relate, Influence, Play, Help, Knowledge, Form Relationships, Obtain Results)?

7.   Analyze the elements of interpersonal communication in the exchange (Source-Receiver, Encoding-Decoding, Competence, Messages)?

8.   Are there any feedforward messages (Open, Preview, Disclaim, Altercast)?

9.   Is there any noise present (Physical, Physiological, Psychological, Semantic)?
